Wheelock Primary Expansion Breaks Ground

This week has seen building commence on the expansion of Wheelock Primary School which will see the school increase its pupil numbers to over 400.

This exciting project will see the construction of a single storey, standalone building that is being built alongside the main school, it will provide four large classrooms, pupil toilets and a large entrance area that will also be used as a wellbeing and intervention space.

James Routs, Director of Estates and Marketing for The Learning Partnership commented, “We are absolutely delighted after many months of planning to break ground on the project this week. The new classroom building will provide modern state of the art facilities for pupils and staff at the school and also enable it to meet the growing demand for pupil spaces, especially with the ongoing population growth in the Sandbach and Wheelock area.”

The new building is being funded by Cheshire East Council and is planned to take between five and six months with pupils being taught in their new classrooms before the end of the year. This will be the fifth school expansion project in the trust over the last 18 months, with projects already completed at Black Firs Primary School, Congleton High School, Wistaston Church Lane Academy and Knutsford Academy.
