As Christmas approaches, Caroline Lowe is reflecting on what has been a very busy and exciting first term as Head Teacher at Egerton Primary School.

There hasn’t been a spare moment for Egerton’s new Head Teacher, as she gets to know her 205 pupils, 30 members of staff and hundreds of parents. She feels grateful for all their support so far. “It’s a very steep learning curve coming into a new school, but everyone has been wonderfully supportive in my first term.” Caroline brings 23 years of teaching and Deputy Head experience to her new role.

Joining the school, and the community

“As well as pupils, staff and parents, it’s been great to meet our neighbours in the community. We have Egerton Pre School on our doorstep, and their pupils will be special guests at our Nativity play next week and we’re welcoming residents from Abbeyfield House across the road into school on the 20th. Our school choir sang at the Knutsford Christmas Lights Switch On and helped keep spirits high for volunteers at The Toy Appeal. So it has been a busy but very enjoyable first term, and at this time of year we also have end-of-term theatre treats and discos for pupils, a Christmas Fayre and Nativity play.”

Ready for 2024 with a new Vision

Caroline is looking forward to 2024 and the opportunities it brings. “My job is to ensure Egerton remains a Good school and to take it even further. With our new vision - Ready to learn. Ready to thrive. Ready for tomorrow - I’m looking forward to fine-tuning the curriculum and making it even more adventurous for young, curious minds. Egerton pupils already are Global Citizens, but as a teaching team we’re ready to enhance their experience with increased focus on Sustainability Goals linked to the environment and global awareness. We’re also well on our way to achieving the Primary Science Quality Mark, so watch this space…!”
